That’s it, this blog is closed. I never really finished it as I was rather busy the end of my year abroad. I’m not going to say much more, if you have read this blog you know that this was an incredible experience. Not only did I do something interesting job wise, but most importantly I met lots of very nice people who helped me a lot Thank you everybody, I’ll miss you !
So I did it. One month without any blog entry. Why is that ? I barely have time, so much is going on. And since I lost my camera, I need to gather pictures first before I can write about anything we did. Anyway, a small overview of what happened recently:
- LOTS of parties, farewells and barbecues.
- A weekend in Washington DC
- I moved into a new Siemens building.
- I booked my flight back
I’ll update my gallery asap, I got many pictures but I still have to sort them. I can’t believe it’s almost over, the last 11 months flew by too quickly ! Stay tuned…
Finally, I’ve done it. I’ve been waiting for this moment for quite some tome now, and yesterday was the D-Day: I went to see Eddie Izzard live ! For his current “Stripped” tour, 3 dates were scheduled in NYC, so there was no way I was going to miss that. For those who don’t know Eddie Izzard, check Wikipedia. He happens to be one of my favorite stand-up comedians, just before George Carlin, let’s say.
The tickets were not cheap at all, but what the heck, we only live once, don’t we. And money is there to be spent after all. So of course I wanted a good seat … well I got one The show took place in the Radio city music hall, a very nice location. The show was hilarious, even though Eddie did not dress up as a woman this time and some jokes were “old” jokes he recycled from his former shows (Dress to Kill, Circle, Glorious, Sexie…). I’ve always loved his intelligent humor and his smart puns. As usual, he jokes about culture, history, religion, and of course the USA. I will definitely watch this show again as soon as it’s available in DVD, in the meantime you should take a look at some of his sketches. I only picked a few, but all of his shows are really good.
I could go on for hours, but that’s it for now. If you want to have a good time, watch his former shows. I think that he is brilliant and hilarious
George Carlin, one of my favorite stand-up comdian passed away on june 22th. I really wanted to see one of his live shows, but I missed it . Here is a link to the dedicated NY Times article
Here are some youtube videos of some sketches I really like :
I just updated and added some links to the blogroll. I’ll add some new pictures soon, we are dying here in almost 100 degrees. It’s a good thing americans don’t give a damn about global warming, everything has it’s own air conditionner Solong …
Hier werde ich hin und wieder Bilder und Erfahrungsberichte von meinem Praktikum bei Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton (New Jersey, USA) veröffentlichen.
